SP038: Scandal – The Fluffer 3×16

Scandal, The Fluffer Season 3, Episode 16
This episode is brought to you by the Black Alphabet Film Festival (BAFF).

I didn’t realize there was some low key shade on Fitz’s part when he caught Andrew looking at Mellie with lust eyes.  He threw Andrew the bird!  I was like oh Fitzie you little scamp.  Did you think no one would notice you flicking Andrew off?  Well I caught it and it is in the main pic of this week’s episode, The Fluffer.

I was impressed with Abby’s tenacity even when faced with the uncooperative staff members at the White House, which of course includes Fitz.  Loved Olivia’s scene with Andrew and Mellie’s uncharacteristic loss of control in front of others when she slapped the tar out of Fitz. They were both shocked at that.  Check out the rest of the recap and the highlights from the B-Side Team of Scandal Podcast and don’t forget to support Langstan’s Indiegogo campaign for Black Alphabet Film Festival.  He does work hard to bring you all a lot of the content of the show’s notes and in our recaps.  Let us all show him our appreciation by giving him our support.

The Fluffer Scene Transcript with Fitz and Olivia.

(Transcribed by Langstan Smith from the Scandal Podcast B-Side Team)

Olivia: This Jeanine Locke thing is big. You can’t underestimate it, but it can be counteracted. Means you’re gonna have to make nice with Mellie and Andrew.

Fitz: You sent Gabby to me in your place?

Olivia: ABBY!

Fitz: What?

Olivia: Her name is Abby.

Fitz: I don’t care what her name is. You sent her to me in your place…What is that?

Olivia: I’m here now. What do you need?

Fitz: I want Andrew Nichols off the ticket.

Olivia: We’re not taking Andrew off the ticket.

Fitz: I want a list of new VPs picks on my desk by the morning.

Olivia: You’re not getting a new VP.

Fitz: I am NOT running with that son of…

Olivia: You knock Andrew off the ticket now…it’s an amateur move. It’s too late, it’ll ruin you. You picked him. He’s your guy. Too bad for you, he stays on the ticket. What else do you need?

Fitz: What else do I need? What else do I need?

Olivia: What else do you need? What service can I render to you today? Am I here to stroke your ego? Am I your cheerleader? Am I here to wipe your tears? Am I your nanny? Am I here to fight the bully? Am I your bodyguard today? Maybe I’m here to make you feel good. Maybe I’m your dealer…or may-be…I’m here to make you feel hot…and manly and ready so you’re not jealous of your wife’s boyfriend. Is that it? Am I your fluffer today, Fitz? Is that what I am? What service am I billing you for today?

Fitz: You’re being disgusting.

Olivia: Oh I’m being disgusting?

Fitz: …and petty…

Olivia: Right.

Fitz: …and jealous…

(long silent pause)

Olivia: I lie in bed every night, playing our relationship o-ver and o-ver in my head like a movie. We meet. We fall in love. We can’t stop ourselves we’re meant to be together. I give up everything inside me and then it stops…the movie just stops. I don’t know how it ends. It’s just me…waiting…for a house in Vermont I can’t live in and a man who makes me promises he can’t keep.

Fitz: I am not the bad guy. I am not the guy who lured you in to some degrading…I am not the bad guy.

Olivia: I know that.

Fitz: You want this to be easy. You want this to be simple. It is not easy or simple.

Olivia: I know that.

Fitz: So you can’t just stand there staring at me with dead eyes like I’m some…This didn’t happen to you. I didn’t happen to you.

Olivia: I know……..I should go.

Fitz: Fine. Go.

(Uncomfortable silence)

Olivia: If Andrew leaves the ticket, you lose. If Mellie doesn’t stand by you, you lose. And losing is not an option. We’re winning this election.

Three Favorite Scenes from The Fluffer episode of Scandal

I enjoyed this episode and my head was swimming, it was going so fast.  My three big moments, when Liv said to Fitz, like what am I to you? And for him to still be like, even though I’m with you…yeah I can’t have my wife having sex with Andrew.  That scene made me hate their relationship so much.Obviously Jake choking Olivia in the end. He burst up in the office like Ike Turner on a coke binge and I was like both of these white dudes are crazy.  Jake was supposed to be the quote unquote, nice guy.  She’s going to have to call Edison’s boring ass back and lastly dinner with the Popes. I enjoyed dinner with the Popes. I want them to start a spades game with random cast members.” -Rodimus
Number one obviously was The Fluffer scene.  I thought that was amazing. The title of the show doesn’t typically come up until the middle or the end and she brought it in almost at the top of the show, like three of four scenes in. That scene was like I came to find out…He told her he wanted Andrew gone and when he asked her again what do you mean what do I need, he just broke her off a piece of a kit kat bar.  When she said, am I here to make you feel good? Am I here to make you feel more of a man.  She was just digging into him. The scene with Olivia and Andrew was my second scene. It was so many scenes for me but that was in my top 3 because that was a flash of the original Liv.  Not the new recipe, the original recipe Liv. She showed up last night or as I call her, the Liv we love.  She came back and that’s when you realize–both of her parents contribute to who she is. Even though her mother wasn’t in her life for 22 years, there is a fire in her that comes from both her parents. There was a theme that ran through there that ultimately culminated in her sleeping with Jake. It started with  Huck, when she told him to do something he didn’t want to do, then fast forward to her argument with Fitz when she’s trying to find out who she is today and what services she was billing him for today. And then we fast forward to Huck and he says I do everything you tell him to do and she realized that everything she’s been she’s been treating them all like the help. “-Langstan
My three moments were when Mellie slapped the heck out of Fitz, when Jake got into the elevator and the doors closed in his face and look I know I’m not team Jake in any way shape or form but when those doors closed in his face…wooo I was upset and the standing in the sun references; I really dug that…”-Jaha
